riceviamo e pubblichiamo una lettera giunta al nostro amico e collaboratore Roberto Malini In the photo, Klaus Henning A new letter to Roberto Malini (EveryOne Group) from the European Commission Dear Mr Malini, I acknowledge receipt of your message of 24 June 2016 to President Juncker, on behalf of whom I am responding to you, and thank you for having shared your thoughts with him. The European Union is a historic achievement of peace, prosperity and security on the European continent and remains our common framework. At the same time many people express dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs, be it at the European or national level. Europeans expect us to do better when it comes to providing security, jobs and growth, as well as hope for a better future. We need to deliver on this. To that end the Juncker Commission in 2014 has set up a work programme centred on 10 main priorities. These include moving towards a new policy on migration. To that end a comprehensive European agenda on migration has been developed in May 2015. It is clear that no EU country can or should be left alone to address huge migratory pressures. The European Commission's agenda on migration sets out a European response, combining internal and external policies, making best use of EU agencies and tools, and involving all actors: EU countries and institutions, international organisations, civil society, local authorities and national partners outside the EU. The Commission has also prioritised development policy. It has been working on the Millennium development goals, and on subsequently setting up a post-2015 framework. The Commission has continued engaging in an extensive dialogue with citizens. Citizens do also have the opportunity to make their views heard via the European Citizens' Initiative. We hope that this does provide some reassurance, and do appreciate your interest and involvement in the debate on the future of the European Union. Yours sincerely, Henning KLAUS Head of Unit European Commission Secretariat-General Unit B.2 "Institutional Affairs" BERL 5/332 B-1049 Brussels/Belgium
